Linkin Park Stalker Jailed

That woman who stalked Linkin Park man Chester Bennington, to the extent that she hacked into his email and voicemail, stole private family photos, and then threatened the singer's wife, has been jailed for two years.

Devon Townsend admitted to cyber-stalking the Linkin Park star almost as soon as she was formally charged, admitting that she first hacked into Bennington's internet and mobile accounts, and then used the information she obtained to track his movements and go and stalk him in the real world. She admitted: "On at least one occasion, knowing that Chester Bennington was in Arizona, I travelled to Arizona solely for the purpose of trying to see him. While I was there, I monitored Chester Bennington's voicemails as a means of trying to locate where he might be eating".

Townsend is expected to start her sentence in a minimum-security prison in the next two months, and should receive mental health treatment while there.

The follow up to 2005's X&Y is now in the final stages according to band manager Dave Holmes.

He told Billboard.com: "They're in the final mixing (stage). They'll start mastering, and away we go. I think it's their best album. They've really delivered. It's a fantastic record."

Once the Yellow singers are done with the studio they fully intend on getting back on tour.

Dave adds: "They're really looking forward to touring and getting back out there."

Amy Winehouse Will Probably Make Brits

image Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse is now expected to appear at the awards show.

Brit Awards chairman and SonyBMG chief Ged Doherty told Sky News yesterday: "I heard her rehearse last night and she sounded absolutely great. We are just thrilled to have her appearing at the ceremony. At times it has been a difficult year for Amy but what has never been in doubt is that she is a real talent". As previously reported, there has been much speculation as to whether Winehouse would be well enough to make the awards show, though since her by satellite Grammy performance it has been more likely than not that she would make it.

More Michael Jackson Live Rumours

Words By CMU

Something of an ongoing story, this one, with yet more hints that Michael Jackson will engage on some live music shenanigans to pay off spiraling debts, said to be around £150 million.

Reports, of course, have been suggesting for a while now that the King Of Pop could return for a selection of live dates - wildly rumoured to include a month-long residency at London's O2 - around the time of the 25th anniversary re-release of his classic album 'Thriller', a special edition of which includes a number of re-workings of tracks by artists like Kanye West and Will.i.am who, incidentally, is apparently working with Jacko on new material. Should he sign up for the O2 deal then it's estimated he would stand to make around £15 million, which isn't bad for a month's work at all. Though only a drop in that £150 million ocean.

Rihanna has once again fuelled speculation that she is dating Josh Hartnett - after admitting she "loves hanging out" with the actor.

The 19-year-old singer last month denied reports of a romance between the pair, insisting she hardly knows the 'Black Hawk Down' star.

But Rihanna now says she is close pals with Hartnett and emphasises that she likes to get to know any potential suitors before settling down.

She says: "It's good to be friends first. I don't find it too hard to talk to male pals. When I hang out with Josh, it's lovely."

Vedder films first solo video, 'Guaranteed'

January 3, 2008

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder recently shot a video for ‘‘Guaranteed,’’ his Golden Globe- and Grammy-nominated song from the Sean Penn-directed film ‘‘Into the Wild.’’ The clip, directed by Marc Rocco, will premiere at 5 a.m. Sunday on VH1 and VH1.com.

Rocco shot the video on 35 mm film in just three hours, and interspersed clips from ‘‘Into the Wild’’ with Vedder performing the acoustic track.

It’s Vedder’s first appearance as a solo artist in a music video.

‘‘It has been a privilege and honor to collaborate with Eddie in a medium that he so rarely visits,’’ says Rocco, who directed 1995’s ‘‘Murder in the First’’ and wrote the 2005 film ‘‘The Jacket.’’ ‘‘I hope that I’ve portrayed visually the song ‘Guaranteed’ in a way that leaves the viewer as emotionally moved as I was the first time I heard Eddie’s music for ‘Into the Wild.’ ’’

‘‘Guaranteed’’ is nominated for the best original song Golden Globe and the Grammy for best song written for a motion picture.
